gentryfolk

{James Bigstaff O'Rear in the 20s. dapper fellow. mixing patterns!}

{Agnes Saffell O'Rear. A Beauty}

I'd like to think that everyone can appreciate the charm of old photographs, but it's just that much more special when they are of your own family. I found these two pictures of my great-grandfather and great-grandmother (on my dad's side) James Bigstaff and Agnes Saffell O'Rear. I might be bias here, but I just love them. More old photos to come!

This chick. She's amazing and guess what? Another one of my girl crushes. She's usually behind the camera (whilst artfully holding a cigarette) at the gazillion fashion shows each season, but sometimes... just sooooometimes we get to have a little peek at her (especially when her BF The Sartorialist decides to photograph his love). Such a cute little Parisian. You can visit her site here

found!

What I saw a long the way:

{pretty tin tray: put your liquor on it or your jewels}

{cool old thermos. Cork top!}

{fancy fruit holder I'm guessing}

{I'd reupholster. Kind of shaker-townish simple style. It was very sturdy}

{Luxury. Fun couch}

What I bought:

{girly stool. will reupholster someday. 5 bucks}

{light fixture. I just love these}

{not sure if they work. Still pretty as ever. $6.50!}

{pretty little poppy painting. an original. 1 dollar!}

Sadly, I can't bring the furniture finds back home to California with me. tragic. Who wants to babysit!

*All these treasures found at KY Goodwills (so cheap compared to Cali)*

Multiplicity Multiplicity

There's that old design adage that things in multiples can look more balanced, cohesive and just plain interesting to the eye. Cue Things Organized Neatly.

{favorite = first image. Which do you fancy?}
