These started out as an experiment in color combination and watercolor manipulation. Then I had to go and break out my exacto knife. Cue little jungle-y animals. Can't quite decide if I'm done with them or not. I've always been into collage (haven't we all had a moment with it, especially teen years?).

I went to the William Eggleston exhibit at the LACMA this week and it was pretty awesome. He's known for a printing technique that heavily saturates the colors in the photo. These are some of my favorite images.

William Kentridge

I was happily reminded of a favorite artist I had in college this week. Meet William Kentridge. A South African artist who sketches in charcoal and makes great little animations. These aren't your typical cutsey cartoons. His are dark, smudgy and eerie.
