Have a good weekend!

{fall in Kentucky - mom's driveway}

Have a great weekend, friends. I hope to go flea marketing this weekend, eat at my favorite Cali restaurants and sneak peeks of the pictures I took in KY. I already miss it.

{great new mural in downtown Frankfort}

fashion/faux pas

{my foot. my dog. not my women-over-40 magazine}

Hi. So, I've been wearing these black Danskos like it's my job/there's no tomorrow lately. I kind of love them, but are they totally hideous? fess up!  {1. pretty sure nothing can stop me from wearing them (I feel like an art teacher!) and 2. the clog trend is in full force! I've seen proof}

happy weekend!

random acts of random thoughts

*I have this weird urge to watch all the old Disney classics: Bambi. Beauty and the Beast. Snow White. but do not even know where to locate a VCR.

*I miss SoCal sushi. and Open Sesame. and In N Out.

*Excited for a weekend at the races with Petal&Pine and her Mr. (and drinking bloody mary's in honor of a certain blonde and a certain boy)

*Absolutely loving the Kentucky weather lately. So fall and so perfect.

Have a wonderful weekend!

{James Bigstaff O'Rear in the 20s. dapper fellow. mixing patterns!}

{Agnes Saffell O'Rear. A Beauty}

I'd like to think that everyone can appreciate the charm of old photographs, but it's just that much more special when they are of your own family. I found these two pictures of my great-grandfather and great-grandmother (on my dad's side) James Bigstaff and Agnes Saffell O'Rear. I might be bias here, but I just love them. More old photos to come!

miscellaneous treasures found at my mom's house, which I rearranged and photographed. Why? just 'cause. The lighting reminds me of an old print ad from the 50s.

My Old Kentucky Home

{Shep dog}

{much needed dog-love}

{Vintage curtains...}

{...in "my" room in KY. is it still mine?}

Currently back in KY for a bit. Sometimes (like...45%?) my mom's taste in interiors aligns with mine and all is right with the world. These curtains are one of those times*.

*{I bet some of you are shaking your heads, mouths agape..."Those curtains? Crazygirl." BUT, think a subdued room, simple...a little modern-y, where those curts can shine!}

weekend-ish

{bike ride}

{what is it!}

{I have never seen such}

{biking dress}

{birthday gift}

{party entertainment: DJ Greyboy and Warchurch}

{mama the frenchie (although I like to call her Emily). Pretty sure she's famous}

Took a ride on the LA River bike trail and ran across a couple flirtatious grade-school boys, a woman on her horse wearing an awesome sombrero, a boisterous rottweiler (!) and a sad, lonely and abandoned teddy bear. It's poetry, people! poetry. Went to a birthday party, ate cake and loved on pups.

not much changed, same perrrrfect pink color... just new tires and tape. Biking's hard! but lot's of fun. Thank you craigslist.

{Do you LIKE biking ARE you GOOD at it what color is YOUR BIKE? Are these polite yet prompting questions? I feel like blogging is super self centered and that really isn't my style but... c'est la vie/when in Rome...}
