Hi folks, I wanted to ask a favor. Any good music recommendations lately? I'm going on a little vacation in a couple of days and wanted to load up my pod with lots of new tunes. Thinking about Jenny and Johnny's new one...have you heard?

It's been raining unreal proportions in southern California and I'm kind of loving it. Me and my handy dandy imagination are pretending it's snow. so cold! so season appropriate! this kind of weather demands cozy fireplace action...

also season (and crazy person) appropriate....painting your firewood stash in pretty, poppy colors. {don't think I haven't thought about doing this...}

gift giving.

I decided to have a little wrapping fun this year with the gifts. I hand-stamped a bunch of kraft paper and used big vinyl lettering in lieu of gift tags. 

{yes. I'm aware of the disproportion of the stamp pad to stamp. shame.}

I'll be honest, I don't like the actual wrapping part, but I do like adding the accoutrements to make it pretty...bows, glitter, gold pinecones...

a real live tumbleweed. California is the wild, wild west. spotted in Long Beach in a very urban area.

LB Flea is this weekend, want to start wrapping presents to put under the tree (it's a bit sad under there at the moment...), finish my Christmas cards and do some old fashioned relaxin'. Have a great weekend friends! Anything fun planned?

did a little post on Birds Of Ohio's blog featuring textile designer, Vera Neumann. I used to always notice her signature on scarves I found thrifting. (ps. I wish spellcheck would recognize "thrifting" as a word already!)

 I want to make my own wreath and these are some nice ideas. I like the thought of an all berry one...a little organic-y looking... I need to round up some supplies, stat. Have you ever made a wreath before? any tips for a rookie?
